A public bus gets a new tire.
Stopping to meet the friendly locals and enjoy the view. Notice the beautiful snowcapped mountains in the background. That is where I'm heading.
BEIJING'S FAMOUS PEKING DUCK
After it has been spiced rubbed, hung to air dry, and fired roasted this delicious duck is meticulously carved into 120 perfect pieces tableside.

I learnt how to prepare and carved the duck. Can't wait to try this at home!
Tradional accompaniments include pancakes, julienne cucumbers and spring onions, soy paste, garlic paste, and sugar. I couldn't wait to go into the city (I lived in the suburbs) to eat this meal.
WORLD TREKKING 101
Planning: Reading, net surfing, making local friends
Tasting the local cuisine: Restaurants, homes, street food is my favourite, and culinary classes.
Getting Around: Sightseeing, photography, getting around efficiently...I have ZERO navigation sense so it makes sense to get a driver/guide. I also never know the dates or times, so they help me stay on track. I just give them a map with all the places of interest circled, take a phrasebook and my adventurous spirit and Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!
